The Arrowsmith team has always been passionate about giving back to our community and supporting local non-profit organizations. Since 2021 our founder, Erik Fletcher, has had the opportunity to work as a mentor with Business in the Streets (BITS), a non-profit organization based in Toronto, Canada that helps young entrepreneurs launch and grow their businesses. BITS provides training, mentorship, and access to funding and resources to individuals from underrepresented communities who face barriers to starting and scaling their own businesses.

Through his experience working with BITS, Mr. Fletcher has seen firsthand how the organization has been instrumental in providing young entrepreneurs with the tools and support they need to turn their ideas into successful businesses. BITS offers a wide range of programs, including mentorship, workshops, and networking opportunities, all designed to help aspiring entrepreneurs overcome common challenges and achieve their goals.

One of the most impressive things about BITS is their commitment to diversity and inclusion. The organization works tirelessly to create a supportive and inclusive community that welcomes individuals from all backgrounds and experiences. By fostering an environment of collaboration and learning, BITS has been able to help a diverse range of young entrepreneurs achieve their dreams of starting and growing their own businesses.

We would highly recommend Business in the Streets to anyone looking to get involved with a non-profit organization that is making a real difference in the lives of young entrepreneurs. Whether you are a mentor, an aspiring entrepreneur, or simply someone who is passionate about supporting underrepresented communities, BITS offers a wealth of opportunities to get involved and make a positive impact.

Hometown Eats is a non-profit community initiative developed by the team at Arrowsmith with the objective of helping restaurant owners ensure the continuity of their businesses by promoting alternative delivery and takeout options during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic.

As entrepreneurs ourselves, we deeply empathize with the challenges faced by business owners in the wake of strict lock-down requirements and widespread economic uncertainty. We also understand the importance of maintaining the social distancing protocols necessary to protect vulnerable members of our community. Our team of experienced marketing professionals recognized this as an opportunity to leverage our talents to create an online directory connecting local restaurants to their customers in a safe and responsible manner.

Over the past decade, the emergence of various food delivery apps has provided restaurants with an effective means of reaching new customers and generating revenue. Unfortunately, these platforms remain inaccessible outside of major urban centers, and often charge prohibitive service fees to their vendor partners. Unlike other apps and websites, HometownEats is provided at no cost to local businesses and remains a free service for all users.
